Nicole by OPI - Kim-pletely in Love...nubbins and all

Well, I hunted this polish down like a pro. I got the last one my Wal-Mart had. And while I do like it, because it is work appropriate and all, it didn't photo worth beans for me.

Unfortunately, I photoed my left hand - it's way easier for me....so avert your eyes. This level of nail carnage is only for the strong hearted.

It's....so.....gross. I hate you nubbin!!!!

I know the cool thing about this pink is that there is blue shimmer running through it, but for some reason, mine is all stuck to the side of the bottle. Maybe it had been laying there for a while. Either way I'm glad I got this bad boy for my stash. It will be well used when I'm working I'm sure.

butter London Wallis

Polish? Finally? Yes - it's true. I finally have a swatch for you. I got 3 butter London's yesterday, and this is the infamous Wallis. It's golden army green wonderness.

I hadn't had many experiences with this brand except for No More Waity Katie, which I hated and swapped immediately. I'm a believer now though. This is three coats.

BAAM - right handed! Which is why it's messier than normal, which isn't much better I'll admit. 

I'm really enjoying this - I also got The Black Knight and Tart with a Heart, and I can't wait to photo them. After this, I put a whole bunch more on my wishlist. I can't justify paying $17 a polish very often.

OPI Super Bass Shatter over Pink Friday

Ello, I had a major, major nail fail today. I broke off half of my middle nail - no kidding, it's half. I'm trying to figure out how to swatch it (since my right hand is usually messier and has a short ring fingernail), but luckily I photo'ed this before the epic break.

I didn't take a picture of Pink Friday on it's own - mostly because it looked awful on me! I'm too pale for it. Now if it was summer, and I had my tan, it might have been another story. It just wasn't working for me. The problem I have is I like it a lot under the shatter. Decisions, decisions.

This is making me miss my nail :(  It's bizarre enough for me to have them. That's why I got into nail polish, because I'm a compulsive nail biter/cuticle picker. On the flip side, I hate it when I chip them. So if I don't bite them, they don't chip, and the look pretty for longer.

This nail turned out the best - I used a thicker coat, which I prefer. I'm so cranky now, I just got a whole lot of new polish I wanted to swatch too!

Nerd Lacquer Event Horizon

I...love...nerd lacquer. I'll say it loud and I'll say it proud. Seems like a lot of people do too, because I haven't been able to place my next order because all of the polishes I want are sold out! I'm persistent though, so I'll be watching out for the next restock.

This is the lovely, dark, sparkly wonder called Event Horizon. It's a blackened teal with major glitter.

It's funny that I fancy myself a nerd, but I don't like regular nerdy things - sci fi being one of them. But I can appreciate the thought and cleverness of some of the polish names. I'm lemming the Monty Python Set quite badly. Anyway, back to this polish!

I do love it...however I bought Nebula, the sister polish that's burgundy, and I think I like it more. I'll show it off soon, I promise!

Julep Anne

So....I became a Maven! I've heard mixed reviews on the company, but I'm trying to remain impartial. I ended up with the American Beauty box - which included two polishes. This is the first one, and my favourite.

Anne is a bright, cool purple which I absolutely love. I think it is super flattering on me.

  

I think it's ironic that I was about to buy a polish in this exact shade when my first box showed up. It's like divine polish intervention. I edited this photo to make it as colour accurate as possible - which is why I look so red.

TonyMoly Jupiter

Oh mah lurrrrd - this was a smart buy on my part! The photos don't show its awesomeness. Tomorrow I'll take some when it's light!

 

I used two coats of black creme, and then one coat Jupiter...it looks fabulous! If I didn't just get Nicki Minaj polishes, I'd keep it on much longer.

Now, one dark blurry one for good measure....

Amazeballs. That is all.

L'Oreal Amazon's Flash

Hi! Sorry for the lack of posts, I've been dealing with some stuff....but I thought I'd show you my 'golden globe' nails!
I had mulled over buying this colour for a long time. I have Owl's Night, which is gorgeous, so that being said I figured I'd give this one a go.

 I love it, however, I took FIVE coats to get it as opaque as it is on my nails. Also, you can still see the white mark on my pinkie nail.

 It would appear that I'm going to have to layer it next time I wear it, but I do love it and I'm glad I got it!

 I'll probably be back later today...because I got my first TonyMoly polish today!! I'm so excited to try it out!

Cult Nail Captivated

Hey, quick post on yesterday's mani! Cult Nails Captivated came out last summer, and I have gotten lots of mileage out of it!

 It's the most awesome orangey-red sparkly magic!

 Hope you lurve it as much as I do! Also sorry for the crummy pictures - I did them in a hurry!

Zoya Reva...and a little bit of nonsense

First the polish! I just got Reva in a MUA swap, and I'm loving it! It's a cool pinkish red with golden shimmer!

And finally - I got a picture in the sun! I'm a super night owl, so when I paint them fresh, it's usually at 11pm. But I was doing some schoolwork today and was mesmerized by my nails, and I remembered to snap some pics.

I really wish I knew what caused that random brown spot on my index finger...hangnail fail mayhaps?

Now, on the slightly related nonsense - every time I say 'Reva', I immediately redirect to 'Reba', which redirects me to this.

I love the Lonely Island. Andy Samberg makes my day. The only two men I love more are Darren Criss and Kevin McHale. And yes, I clearly love a man who can pull off hipster glasses.

Zoya Jem

Hello! Today I decided to use Zoya Jem, from the Fall 2011 Mirror's collection. I'm sorry I did such a messy job painting them...

 I love this colour! It's close to another one of my favourites - Valerie, but it's got more of a gold/bronze flash. Here it is with the flash in the dark...

...and here it is with my room lighting. You can kind of see that bronzy flash I was talking about. Thanks for bearing with me!

 

Zoya Dannii

Hello everyone! I'll be the first to admit - Zoya is my absolute favourite polish brand of life! They have brushes that I (usually) don't make a mess with, and a colour range that is incredibly diverse! As a Canadian lady, I do have an issue with the fact that they don't ship here, but I manage to get my hands on whatever I can by swapping or ebaying!
Zoya Dannii was the first Zoya I ever got, and it's probably one of my favourites. I love purples, and this purple is amazing! I still have my lamesauce camera, because my dearest is on vacation with his.

It's so gorgeous! It has amazing shimmer which has me staring at my nails for hours on end!

I took this photo in the dark using just the flash, and it's the most colour accurate photo I could get :( I need to remember to take photos in the light hours - my overhead lighting makes it look more like this....

Maybe someday I'll get the hang of this photo thing.

New Years Resolutions?

I'm not entirely certain why I suck so much at this whole blogging thing. I think it's because my swatches are junk. But I've decided this year, I'm going to do it right! I'm sitting on a stupid amount of nail polish I could be sharing with the world. So as soon as I get back to my apartment, I'm going start 2012: A Blogging Adventure! I'm going to 'borrow' my boyfriends super camera too, so my swatches actually look like something. Stay tuned folks!
